Posted on Friday, 4 of May , 2007 at 5:33 pm

ALBANY—The second time around was a charm for Emily Pataki, daughter of former New York Gov. George Pataki.  She had flunked the New York State bar exam on her first attempt last July.

The state Board of Law Examiners said that 3,538 candidates took the February bar exam with a passing rate of 44.3%.

At age 24, she is employed by the White & Case law firm in New York City. She is a graduate of Columbia University Law School, her father’s alma mater. Her father didn’t seek a fourth term. He has joined a New York law firm and is contemplating seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.

In a statement Friday, Pataki said that “once she set her mind to it, I had no doubt she would pass.  She has excelled in everything she has ever worked at and Libby and I are just very proud of her.”  5-04-07
