STONY CREEK—Two alleged illegal immigrants from Mexico are lodged in the Warren County Jail following a stabbing Tuesday night at a Stony Creek residence.

J. Guadalupe Bernal Sanchez, 35, of Hudson, has been charged with two felony counts of assault after he allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old male in the abdomen and inflicted a knife wound in the shoulder of a 22-year-old male.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office did not release the names of the victims.

Lt. C. Shawn Lamouree said that about 8:13 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report a stabbing had occurred at 232 Warrensburg Road.  An investigation showed there had been a gathering at the residence, during which an altercation broke out between two males outside the residence.  During the altercation other subjects became involved.

Lamouree said at some point during the fight, Bernal Sanchez allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the two males. Both subjects were taken to the Glens Falls Hospital for treatment.  The victim with the stab would to his abdomen was admitted to the hospital for treatment, the other victim was treated and released.

Bernal Sanchez was taken into custody on Alternate Route 7 in Albany County by the New York State Police approximately one hour after the incident was reported.  A second male who had fled the scene with Bernal Sanchez was located in Lake Luzerne.  He was identified Israel Garcia Arcos and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor.

Bernal Sanchez and Arcos were both arraigned in the Queensbury Town Court and remanded to the Warren County Jail without bail.  Immigration and Customs Enforcement was contacted to verify the immigration status of both subjects, as they appear to have entered the United States illegally from their home country of Mexico.
