ALBANY—Roger M. Roisman, a Nassau County resident who is a partner in the Manhattan law firm of Tannenbaum, Helpern, Syracuse and Hirschtritt, LLP, has pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge for failing to file his New York State personal income tax returns between 2001 and 2006.

Roisman, of Meadow Woods Road in Great Neck, was fined $10,000 on the misdemeanor charge and paid restitution on the back taxes, along with interest and penalties, amounting to approximately $189,000.

The case was identified by cross-checking and matching data shared between the state and federal IRS. Roisman was subsequently audited by the Tax Department and it was discovered that for the six years he failed to file tax returns, he made no estimated tax payments or had taxes withheld from his earnings at various law firms.  1-15-09
