The Warren County injustice system seems to be functioning as usual.
People of influence and money continue to get preferential treatment in the court system, that is, if they get arrested at all.
Case in point—Glens Falls attorney Gregory V. Canale.
Although Canale has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors since 2006, unbelievably he has avoided all jail time and is still practicing law. In fact, according to the state Committee on Professional Standards, the lawyer’s disciplinary agency for the Third Judicial Department which encompasses Warren County and 27 other upstate counties, there is no public disciplinary action on file for Canale.
Although Canale has been charged with felony counts of criminal mischief, drug possession as well as assault, he has not sustained even so much as a suspension. In New York State, a felony conviction automatically results in disbarment. 6-20-09
