NORTHVILLE—State Police have confiscated fireworks valued at over $4,000 from a Northville man.
Roger E. Barnoski, 66, was arrested Tuesday for possessing over 100 cartons of illegal fireworks, State Police said.
Troopers from the Mayfield barracks responded to Barnoski’s River Road address after receiving an anonymous complaint of an individual selling fireworks from a trailer located on Barnoski’s property. When confronted about the illegal fireworks, Barnoski admitted to possessing them for resale, police said.
Barnoski was charged with one count of unlawfully dealing with fireworks and dangerous fireworks as a class A misdemeanor, due to the value of the fireworks being more then $500.
He was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Northampton court on July 9.
The New York State Police Bomb Deposal Unit removed the fireworks from the scene and they will be destroyed at a later date. 7-1-09
