JOHNSBURG—An Averill Park man is facing drunk driving charges after his vehicle collided with a barn behind a Johnsburg residence.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of personal injury motor vehicle accident on Saturday about 2:19 a.m. in front of 4123 Rte. 28 in Johnsburg.
Upon arrival they located an unoccupied grey 2003 Mazda 4 door sedan. On investigation, police found the operator of the car, Daniel J. Bondi, 23, at the Rte 28 residence with an injury to his right leg.
Police said the operator told them that he had lost control after crossing a set of railroad tracks, causing his vehicle to leave the west side of the highway, striking a culvert and continuing across a driveway and between two houses through a back yard and finally coming to rest after striking a barn.
Bondi was transported to the Glens Falls hospital by the Johnsburg Emergency Squad. Police said Bondi consented to having his blood drawn at the hospital to determine the alcohol content of his blood and was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. He is due in Johnsburg Court at a later date.
North River Fire Department and North Creek Fire personnel assisted at the scene.
The arrest was made by Patrol Officer James A. Fidd. 7-5-09
