WESTCHESTER COUNTY—A New Rochelle man has been sentenced to three years in state prison for his April guilty plea to first degree sexual abuse.
Kamal Ahmed, 40, while an employee of the Harrison Donut Shop on Halstead Ave. in Harrison on last July 30, followed a 14-year-old girl into the store’s bathroom.
He then restrained the victim by pushing her up against a wall and pinned her there using his body. At that point the defendant repeatedly touched and sexually assaulted her.
The victim fought off the defendant and fled from the bathroom.
Police were immediately called and the victim provided the police with a description of the defendant.
Ahmed was arrested by Harrison police in his store immediately thereafter. DNA evidence collected from the defendant confirmed the child’s account of the incident.
A permanent order of protection in favor of the victim will remain in effect until July 8, 2023.
Upon release from prison, the defendant will be required to register as a convicted sex offender under New York State’s Sex Offender Registry Act, commonly known as Megan’s Law. 7-8-09
