Police Observe Accident, Arrest Driver For DWI

WARRENSBURG—A Lake George man was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning after sheriff’s officers observed him crash his vehicle into a guide rail head on.
Sgt. Michael Webster of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said that about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, officers observed a green Ford minivan operated by Vincent J. Rathbun, 40, of Lake George, traveling down the firehouse hill on Elm St. in Warrensburg.
Webster said as the vehicle approached the intersection with Richards Avenue, it struck the guide rail end head on.
Rathbun was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.21 %. He was held in police lockup for a lack of $500 police bail and is pending an arraignment in the Warrensburg Town Court.
No one was injured in the accident. 10-17-09
