Hundreds Turn Out To Hear Schiavo Brother

COMMENTARY

Albert Einsten once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

But yet a handful of people who are fiercely loyal to America’s most infamous wife killer, Michael Schiavo, are still arguing their case daily, fruitlessly trying to spin their version of the case, engaging in malicious attacks on the family of Terri Schindler Schiavo, the brain injured Florida woman who was executed by judicial order at the behest of her husband in name only in March 2005, dying of dehydration 13 days after her feeding tube was removed, after literally every drop of water was wrung from her body.

One of the most obsessed individuals in leading the attacks on the Schindler family is an individual known as Walter Gay who repetitively falsely implies criminal wrongdoing by the Schindler family in the operation of Terri’s Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by the Schindler family in 2001 to help save Terri’s life, now dedicated to supporting and assisting other families faced with the same need to fight for the rights of their disabled or otherwise vulnerable loved ones.

Cynthia Gay of Dunedin, Fla., was the paralegal for euthanasia attorney George Felos who represented Michael Schiavo in obtaining the death of his wife.  Felos received hundreds of thousands of dollars, perhaps as much as a million, from the trust fund of Terri Schiavo and Gay received thousands of dollars of the money that was supposed to be used for the disabled woman’s rehabilitation and therapy.   Instead, Michael Schiavo used it to engage Felos, Deborah Bushnell and others to kill Terri Schiavo.

Cynthia Gay was paid from Terri’s trust fund to review the depositions of the Schindler family, do Internet research on the Karen Ann Quinlan case, arrange for an investigator and draft a timeline of the case, all at Terri’s expense, drawing money from the trust fund that had been established for Terri’s rehabilitation and therapy but instead was used to hire attorneys and paralegals like Gay to facilitate the killing of the disabled woman.

She was paid to review Terri’s medical records, records that Schiavo and Felos kept from her parents, even after a court order was issued presumably prohibiting them from denying the records to her parents.

Today, the former law office of Felos is shuttered and a review of court dockets shows little legal activity by Felos.

Nearly five years after the death of Terri Schiavo at 41, the husband of Felos’ paralegal who appears to be disturbed and obsessed, engages in a near daily online malicious, attempt to disparage the Schindler family and Terri’s Foundation, repetitively making false allegations against the Schindler family on a forum among a handful of other posters who have been engaged in the same arguments and nonsense for well over five years, like a broken record.

In the meantime, Bobby Schindler, Terri’s brother, has traveled around the world and across the United States in response to invitations to raise awareness about the misinformation that continues regarding Terri’s situation but also about the ongoing threat of euthanasia against the thousands of people with disabilities similar to Terri’s.

Once the money was in his control, instead of using it to help Terri, who he had pledged at trial, under oath, to take care for the rest of his life,  Michael Schiavo used the money for himself and to hire attorneys to end his wife’s life.

But Michael Schiavo had and continues to have serious credibility issues and his veracity and motives, as well as that of his advocate Walter Gay.

Had Terri’s death been consummated when Schiavo first tried to withhold medical treatment in violation of Florida laws after he won a malpractice suit in the early 90s,  he would have inherited nearly a million dollars.  Instead, after a protracted court battle and after he vowed that her parents would never see her again, he got nothing and rightfully so.

Walter Gay appears to be obsessed in his hatred for the Schindler family.  After his defamatory comments are removed by moderators, he systematically and defiantly reposts them, erupting in defamatory statements and false allegations.  Anyone who dares to counter his untruths is quickly personally attacked by Gay and his half dozen supporters.

Michael Schiavo’s attempts at public speaking and appearances have fizzled and instead, he has become under scrutiny by both the Federal Election Commission as well as the Florida Election Commission.  Schiavo has become embroiled in several controversies at his place of employment, the detentions division of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department and has been the subject of several disciplinary actions including slacking on the job, improperly using a county owned computer and taxpayer time to engage in posting nefarious statements against his former in-laws and others engaged in the fight to save the life of Terri Schiavo.

Derek Newton, Schiavo’s political consultant in his failed political action committee TerriPAC, has admitted to false swearing and has reached a tentative plea deal in a three-year long election fraud investigation by the Public Corruptions Unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department involving the 2006 campaign for State Representative District 108 when authorities say Newton tried to sabotage a candidate running against his client by creating a fictional candidate. http://www.northcountrygazette.org/2009/06/24/political_shenanigans/

That case is now scheduled before the November session of the Florida Elections Commission to be held Nov. 17 and 18 in Tallahassee.

Schiavo has no public voice, no speaking engagements. Apparently no one cares what he has to say.  And that obviously gripes Gay.

Throughout all of his bluster and venom, it appears that Gay is most jealous of Bobby Schindler.  In one of his tirades against Terri’s brother on Sunday, Nov. 1, Gay wrote, “With the Schindlers’ listed appearances on their website, I don’t think over 20 persons are in attendance. He is a horrible lair (sic) also”.

Gay exhibits chronic grammar and spelling problems, leading one to question his literacy and IQ in addition to his veracity.

Nearly 400 persons were present for Bobby Schindler’s  most recent speaking engagement last weekend in Scranton, Pa., for the day-long 2009 Pennsylvania Pro-Life Conference, not the 20 envisioned by Gay and that obviously irritates him that the Schindler Family has a warm, receptive audience for their message while Schiavo has none. http://www.timesleader.com/news/Activists_gather_to_support_human_life_10-25-2009.html

Sponsored by the Scranton Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life in concert with the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, the event included exhibitors, speakers and medical professionals all with a common fervor to protect human life.

Bobby Schinder has traveled internationally and to over 40 states as a spokesman for the Foundation, devoting himself to protecting other people with disabilities and raising public awareness about the growing threat of euthanasia and speaking of his family’s battle to save his sister’s life. http://www.terrisfight.org/pages.php?page_id=12

Bobby has been a passionate and outspoken pro-life advocate, specifically in opposition to the euthanasia movement, activist judges and pro-death lawyers and doctors. He believes that laws that set the groundwork for his sister’s death were motivated by the expense of caring for the disabled and elderly.

If you would like someone from the Schindler Family to speak at an upcoming event, please contact Terri’s Foundation at (727) 490-7603. All speaking fees earned by the Schindler family are paid directly to the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation Center for Health Care Ethics, the sister organization to the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation.  For more information, see www.terrisfight.org   11-01-09
