Hunter Shot In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY—State Police and the state Department of Environmental Conservation Police are investigating a hunting incident which occurred Friday about 6:30 a.m. in the Town of Adams, Jefferson County.
Police said that Joseph A. Tufo, 45, of Barben Ave., Watertown, was shot by his hunting partner, Luke T. Netto, 43, of Duffy Rd., Watertown with a .270 caliber rifle. The incident occurred between the CSX railroad and Interstate 81 approximately one and half mile south of SR-177, police said.
Tufo was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse by South Jefferson Rescue Squad where he is being treated and listed in stable condition. 11-6-09
