Ulster County Medical Examiner Faces DWI

ULSTER COUNTY—Ulster County medical examiner Dr. Michael Sheran has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated while responding to the scene of fatal car-pedestrian automobile.
State Police said Sheran, 47, of Accord, had been requested to respond to the accident scene Sunday on State Route 209 in Ellenville. On his arrival, police said they determined that Sheran was under the influence of alcohol.
He was placed in custody and transported to SP Ellenville where he was processed for aggravated DWI. Police did not release his blood alcohol content but an aggravated DWI charge is lodged when the driver’s BAC is .18 or higher.
Sheran was released and is scheduled to appear in Wawarsing Town Court on Nov. 13. 11-9-09
