Posted on Tuesday, 10 of November , 2009 at 7:47 pm

QUEENSBURY—Four additional H1N1 clinics have been scheduled by Warren County Health Services for next week for county residents aged six months to 49 years old.

Pregnant women and other priority groups are encouraged to be vaccinated.  The clinics are for Warren County residents only and an appointment is needed.

Each of the four clinics will be held in Room 6-103 of the Warren County Municipal Center, Rte. 9, Queensbury.  For more information or to make an appointment, call 761-6580.

The clinics are as follows:

  • Monday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to noon
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m
  • Thursday, Nov. 19, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 20, 9 p.m. to 11 a.m.

Both shots and FluMist will both be available at the four clinics. Asthmatics or children with respiratory problems cannot receive the mist.

There may also be other sources of H1N1 vaccine available locally, such as pharmacies and other retail outlets. Check http://www.flucliniclocator.org/ to see if there are any vaccine clinics scheduled at retail outlets near you.

For more information about the swine flu or to learn of other clinics scheduled, visit www.co.warren.ny.us

H1N1 vaccine will not be delivered all at once, so your patience is appreciated. Clinics will be scheduled once there is sufficient vaccine available. Check the county website frequently for future clinic dates and locations.

Individuals in the following priority groups are recommended to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine:

_ Pregnant women

_ Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age

_ Health care and emergency medical services workers

_ All people from 6 months through 24 years of age

_ Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions associated with higher risk of serious illness and medical complications from the flu.

Once individuals in these priority groups have had a chance to get vaccinated, H1N1 flu vaccine will be available to everyone who wants it.  11-10-09
