Posted on Thursday, 12 of November , 2009 at 9:10 pm

QUEENSBURY—A Queensbury man is accused of driving a four-wheeler at a Warren County Sheriff’s officer who was investigating complaints about ATVs operating in woods off Old Forge Road.

In addition to being cited for six traffic tickets, Ian A. Carter, 41, of Farr Lane has been charged with felony attempted second degree assault and second degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor for allegedly driving an ATV at patrol officer Gregory Dunn. Police said that Dunn had motioned for Carter to stop the ATV but instead, Carter went by him and allegedly forced Dunn to jump out of the way.

Police said that Dunn was able to get a partial plate number from the four wheeler and the communications office tracked it to a Glens Falls man who told police he had sold the machine to Carter.   When police went to Carter’s residence, they found the ATV in question.

Carter’s free on $500 bail pending prosecution in Queensbury Town Court.   11-12-09
