Beagle Survives Being Duct-Taped, Left To Die

SARATOGA COUNTY—In what can only be described as an unforgivable, unfathomable act of animal cruelty, a beagle is miraculously alive after being bound in duct tape, placed in a garbage bag, dumped in the woods and left to die.
The four-year-old dog named Daisy had been missing for three weeks until Ed Dandaraw of Providence in Saratoga County found her over the weekend while hunting on his wooded property off Drager Road.
An anonymous donor has offered a $10,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime.
Dandaraw, interviewed by television stations Wednesday night, says he believes divine intervention led him to the dog. A beagle owner himself, Dandaraw said he hadn’t been to the swampy area on his property where he found the dog in three years.
Dandaraw says he saw a black bag and then saw two brown legs coming from the bag. The bag moved and when he opened it, he was horrified to find a dog with its entire body wrapped in duct tape, including its entire head, except for a small hole around the animal’s nostrils which allowed her to get some air. The dog had been unable to see , hear or open its mouth.
Dandaraw said he tickled the dog’s nose and it responded so he knew it was alive. He picked the animal up and said at one point he felt it go limp in his arms. He thought it had died in his arms. He placed the dog on his four-wheeler and took it from the woods, to a vet.
But she didn’t die. The little dog had lost about 20 pounds as a result of her ordeal but a vet says she will survive. The duct tape was very carefully removed. Identified by a microchip, Daisy has been reunited with her owners who are neighbors of Danadaraw. She will have to wear a cone around her head for a while so she won’t scratch at her damaged ears.
Dandaraw says what really incenses him is that whoever did the unthinkable intentionally left the dog’s nostrils untapped so that she would suffer. It is unclear how long she had been in the wooded area.
The matter is under police investigation. Anyone with information about the horrific act is asked to contact the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office at 518-885-6761. 11-12-09

I hope they catch whoever did this unthinkable thing and that he/she gets the max. An appropriate punishment would be to wrap him/her in duct tape from head to toe, leaving the nostrils free, and put them in solitary confinement to rot

A $10,000 reward has now been offered to anyone who has information which leads to the arrest of the person responsible for this. The person who did it has no doubt bragged about it, especially since the dog was found and the publicity. Someone knows who did it. Anyone who has any information about this, please call authorities and bring this person to justice.
