Posted on Thursday, 19 of November , 2009 at 8:05 pm

ALBANY—The state Office of General Services will try again to sell the Glens Falls Armory.

The state had scheduled an auction for Oct. 21 for the building, “as is” with a minimum bid of $500,000 but there were no takers.

Now, OGS Commissioner John C. Egan today says a sealed bid auction for the building will be held on Wednesday. Dec. 16.

All sealed bids must be received before 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 15. OGS will open the bids at the Corning Tower, 26th Floor, in Albany. Attendance at the bid opening is not required.

Minimum bid is $350,000 and site inspections will be offered by appointment only. Those seeking to attend the opening should call (518) 474-4944.

The 38,000 square foot armory is a multi-story building located at 147 Warren St., Glens Falls. It was built in 1894, and declared surplus by the Division of Military and Naval Affairs in July. OGS is conducting the sale for the benefit of the state.

For more information on the property or to schedule a site visit, interested parties can contact the New York State Office of General Services at (518) 474-2195.  11-19-09
