Body Found In Vehicle At Delanson Garage Fire

DELANSON—-State Police are investigating a Saturday night structure fire in a four-car garage located on Thousand Acres Road in Delanson and the discovery of a body inside one of the vehicles in the garage.
State Police said they received a report of an explosion and fire at the Schenectady County location shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday. The garage was detached from the residence , at 1132 Thousand Acres Road and was a total loss. Upon extinguishing the blaze, a body was found inside a pickup truck, one of the three vehicles located within the garage.
Police have not released the name of the owner of the property. The identity of the victim and the cause of death are still under investigation. An autopsy on the victim was scheduled for later Sunday.
Members of the Delanson Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire with the assistance of the Duanesburg, Quaker Street, Mariaville, Esperance, Plotterkill and Pine Grove Fire Departments.
The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, Schenectady County Fire Investigators and the New York State Police. 11-22-09
