GREENWICH—A Greenwich man is lodged in the Washington County Jail after he allegedly took $7,400 from a homeowner to paint his house but didn’t perform the work.
Kenneth K. Washburn 45, of Greenwich, has been charged with third degree grand larceny. He was arraigned before before Hudson Falls Village Justice Michael Feeder, and remanded to Washington County Jail without bail pending further court action.
State Police said their investigation revealed that Washburn knowingly accepted a deposit of $7,400 from a Cambridge resident to paint his house. According to police, Washburn never made a good faith effort to complete the work and never returned the balance of the funds to the victim.
The State Police request that anyone else who feels they have been victimized by Washburn to call (518) 583-7000. 11-23-09
