Beatrice E. Mihill
BRANT LAKE – Beatrice E. Mihill, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Adirondack Tri County Health Care Center, North Creek.
Born in Peru, N.Y., on Aug. 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Josephine (Cotey) Chamberlain.
Mrs. Mihill was employed at The Barry House for the Adirondack Episcopal Missions, Riverside Campsite, Thousand Acres and Warrensburg Laundry.
She was a member of the Brant Wesleyan Church, Krafty Kritters, and Horicon Senior Citizens. Her hobbies included quilting blankets and when she became a resident at the nursing home Bea made beaded necklaces for the Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch. Bea will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Mihill; one grandson, Kenneth LeRoy Knickerbockers; five brothers, John, James, Francis, Louis, and Edward Chamberlain.
Survivors include three sons, Vernon (Fay) Mihill of Schokan, N.Y., Raymond (Chrissy) Mihill of Greenwich, and Roy (Lorna) Mihill of Adirondack; four daughters, Lorraine (Raymond) Trombley of Greenville, Tenn., Hilda (Steven) Hill of Warrensburg, Mary (Terry) Woodward of Warrensburg, and Josephine (Lou) DeFuria of Saranac Lake; two sisters, Dorothy (Ron) Neilson of Camden, N.Y. and Violet Wing of Rome, N.Y.; also 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Brant Lake Wesleyan Church, State Route 8, Brant Lake, with the Rev. Flossy Gage Bates officiating.
Interment will be in the Underwood Cemetery, Adirondack.
Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Barton-McDermott Funeral Home Inc., 9 Pine St., Chestertown.
