TAMPA-Some staff members of the news team Tampa Tribune and News Channel 8 WFLA-TV were busy making the news Sunday instead of reporting it.
Kelly Ann Scaglione, 30, of Pinnacle Heights Circle, has been charged with battery of a law enforcement officer and two counts of resisting arrest following an incident Sunday about 12:30 a.m. when she allegedly shoved a police officer during an argument on Howard Avenue. Police said that Scaglione reportedly screamed obscenities at the cop and then repeatedly pushed him. She was restrained and according to police, tried to avoid being handcuffed.
She is free on $2,500 bail.
Tampa police arrested a reporter for the Tampa Tribune Sunday about 4 a.m. after an officer stopped his vehicle for allegedly running a red light at about 8 mph and across the center white line on a city street.
Christopher Echegaray, 33 or Balave Ridge Circle, Tamp was charged with drunken driving after failing field sobriety tests. He refused to take a breathalyzer test.
He was released from jail after posting $500 bail. 1-09-06
