MALONE---A former forest ranger with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has admitted that he had oral sex with two teenage boys and showed one of them pornographic movies.
Jamie S. Smith, 36, of Bellmont in Franklin County is facing a term of four to 12 years in state prison after pleading guilty in a plea deal to three felony counts of third degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Prosecutors said that none of the incidents occurred in connection with his job as a forest ranger. The incidents occurred between May 2003 and October 2004 at Smith's home. He has admitted to intentionally, knowingly and unlawfully engaging in illicit sexual conduct with two males ages 15 and 16. He also admitted to showing a 16-year-old boy pornographic movies at his home.
Smith is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bail. He will be sentenced March 6.
