I am just one of many taxpaying citizens who has been led to the slaughter house by the hands of their own unethical dishonest lawyer with the blessings of the court/legal system.
All it takes to meet up with personal catastrophe is to be taken in by an unscrupulous attorney of many, as I have, who quickly sizes up a vulnerable client and finds a lucrative opportunity in working not for, but against his own client.
I retained an Ohio attorney to sue for divorce, then fled from abuse, out on my own, leaving all behind. It was a straightforward, should have been, no-brainer prevailing case with decades of accumulated marital wealth. Nearing age 60 with disability from years of abuse, I was completely dependent for survival on immediate spousal support and a just final settlement.
In hindsight, clearly my very own attorney from the start to greatly benefit only others than myself cunningly set me up to be the fall guy maliciously and intentionally by deceptions, lies, ill-doings, lack of representation, maneuvers riddled with booby traps costing and suffering extensively. Made indigent held in a paralyzing vise without representation, without any rights or due process, I was defenseless up against my own attorney and the opposition not to leave out the court/legal system of Ohio. In a tailspin, the local bar, right up to the judge himself, curtly ignored my desperate cries for help. The judge flatly didn't decently even respond at the most critical juncture while my bones were about to be picked dry.
Brought to the breaking point, I was forced to accept whatever the opposing party had to offer before the final contested divorce hearing. Once with over a million dollars in marital assets along with sizable marital income, an estate home on over a dozen acres loaded with furnishings, household, personals having my own separate property and inheritances, life and health insurance etc held by the opposing party for which I greatly contributed to the making of, I was reduced without ever having been heard forced to walk away with little to sustain myself for far too few years ahead. In my opinion, whether it's a dime or a quarter, ruthless intentional actions should be stopped in its tracks by those who should be governing before the full scope of thievery and betrayal is landed. There is no excuse for less.
Since the granted divorce to realize another shocking blow, I have bitterly found there is no real effective recourse to reclaim what was blatantly stolen from me for how The legal/court system is structured the deck is stacked to the hilt in the unethical attorney's favor allowing him/her to work outside the law without having to justly compensate for damages and without fearing punishment or disbarment.
Having no means, no lawyer will touch a malpractice suit case on a contingency basis. Even if I fell over a golden egg laying hen giving a high-dollar malpractice attorney carte blanche in a drawn out unfair fight of years where the accused attorney on his/her own comfy turf has the court looking upon already assaulted plaintiff with disdain for bringing charges against one of their respected own lifting the bar to prove guilt to the sky, the odds of recovery from the "untouchable" offender are slim to none.
The only supposed satisfaction offered by the local bar is filing grievance that might be reviewed by a panel of biased peers with the hope of limp ridicule and a very limited fund to give partial consideration if lucky for the unethical lawyers' excessive fees (which is outright fraudulent theft).
NO pro-bono legal advocate is provided for the financially assaulted client by the bar or the dept. of justice. In some states under consumer fraud, wronged clients without heavy burden of proof are compensated for their damages by guilty attorneys in a timely manner as with any other business conducting themselves improperly. However in 2002, Ohio conveniently revised its consumer fraud laws exalting lawyers further by exempting them which killed any possibility to find justice in some fashion. One has to know the reason why.
Hopefully the reader is connecting the big dots here.
Lawyers often are judges, become senators, governors, officials, presidents, representatives and so-called protectors of the people as paid civil servants. So given that attorneys are bred, nurtured and rewarded in an unethical promoting contaminated environment (aka our idolized American justice system)to
make and revise laws, govern, powerful controllers of democracy able to destroy lives if to their advantage, Americans are but sitting ducks treading unsuspectingly in dangerous waters to be plucked off at any time for the almighty underhandedly given dollar, as I have.
In the countless futile attempts to beg help from the legal system, I have been
treated as a reeking half-mad bag-lady lurking to pick pockets in a private club, quickly shuffled off. A criminal has more rights, at least the right to counsel paid by the court and some due process. Reaching out inexhaustedly to any agency, organization, individuals, advocates that possibly would spark hope, I've been advised to go on with my life as this is common place happenings.
Banging my head against brick walls at every turn, my unscrupulous former attorney from the moment a corrupt deal was entertained knew it would be a feast on me with clear sailing for all. I have been threatened if I dared take any action it would be the sorriest day of my life and he would prevail as promised and I believe it. I find it difficult to give up as I am haunted by this travesty of justice and the unforgivable nightmare naively stepped into. I cannot accept that my life having been pulverized by an unethical attorney condoned by the legal/court system, and I to just choke this all down and live with it.
My small voice will keep echoing out to the void with plugged ears til I take my last breath in this world of growing greed where the innocent are treated the guilty and the guilty empowered to rule.
Despite the rhetorical "gag order" imposed with my strife not popular to be newsworthy, I am here and now challenging those that are left that cower not to expose truth, fight still for justice, uphold and defends rights, laws, our constitutional bill of rights, those given the responsibility to protect the consumer, the citizens of our country, to step forward now to justly rescue my rights, my damages, the injuries inflicted, my lost faith and see that all robbed from me returned swiftly with the guilty punished to never victimize again. 4-24-06
