ROTTERDAM---A man who allegedly got tired of waiting for police to book his friend on a drunk driving charge, ended up spending more time in the police station then planned.
A dispatcher watching the surveillance system in the police station saw Adam Jewett, 21, of Rotterdam, pick up a gumball machine from the station lobby and walk out the door with it.
Jewett had been a passenger in a car operated by Zachary Peek of Schenectady who was arrested for drunk driving about 2:45 a.m. Friday.
Officers found Jewett in the police station parking lot with the gumball machine which is a charity fundraiser. He was arrested for larceny and returned to the station to join his friend for processing. 5-23-06
