BOISE, IDAHO-A Boise woman and her four year-old daughter were killed Thursday when their car was rammed by pickup being operated by a man who had his wife's severed head in the truck.
Samantha Nina Murphy, 36, and her 4-year-old daughter Jae Lynne Grimes of Boise were killed when the truck operated by Alofa Time, 50, crashed into them head on, sending the severed head of his wife airbound onto the roadway.
Time was not seriously injured in the accident. Police said he was carrying a suicide note. A search of his property led to the discovery of the decapitated body of his wife, Theresa N. Time, 47, in the garage of their home.
The crash was witnessed by a Boise police officer who had been driving behind Time, witnessed Time driving erratically and then slamming into the Murphy care.
Time has been charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife and two counts of second degree murder for the deaths of the woman and child. Bond has been set at $1 million and a preliminary hearing will be held later this month.
Murphy's 8-year-old daughter survived the crash and is in fair condition at the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
According to court records, Time had been charged with domestic battery in March for allegedly choking his wife. A trial date of July 25 had been set and a no contact ordered issued which prohibited Time from seeing his wife. His wife had asked to have the charges withdrawn and after attending a "Safety Planning Class" at a crisis center, the court had rescinded the protection order. 6-16-06
