LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Press Only Source For Truth

Editor, The North Country Gazette:

There seems to be an overriding bid to subdue the news that the press prints. Over the last few years it has become more evident. When a reporter wishes not to identify his informant, the reporter should not be forced to do so or go to jail for refusing. This what the press is all about--Truth. If reporters begin to identify their sources, no one would want to bring about the information necessary to keep justice in its' tracks. That is what the First Amendment is all about--Truth.

What we need in this country is real representation from the Senate and the House. That is not going to happen. The Republicrats and Democans pass legislation in terms of who ever presents the best money under the table. In order to keep the dollars in their pockets, they know, they have to kill the "Truth Presenting Press." There are two Amendments that they are trying to control, the First and the Second. As of now, there is pressure on firearms. If they can control that, they can control the press because there will be no fear of the populace pulling their arms and saying, "That's enough."

There is an alternative. People can begin voting for Libertarians. We strongly believe in the First and the Second Amendments. The press is our only source for Truth to ensure that our Government does not wield enough power to diminish our human rights.
