Cop Charged After Live-In Girlfriend Rejects Group Sex

CLEARWATER, FLA---Group sex apparently isn't her thing.

A 15-year Clearwater police officer was charged with domestic abuse Sunday by the Pasco County Sheriff's office after he alleged beat his live-in girlfriend for refusing to engage in group sex.

Police said that Nicholas Brems, 43, a motorcycle officer, appeared to be drunk at the time of his arrest. Police had been called about 6:30 p.m. after the couple got into an argument when he suggested they participate in group sex with other couples. According to the report, when his live-in girlfriend refused his offer, he began shoving and punching her, causing bruises and a head injury.

Brems claimed his actions were in self defense.

Reports indicate he has no prior disciplinary actions. Hired in 1991, Brems has been reassigned to office duty until the case is resolved. 6-20-06
