Editor, The North Country Gazette:
The "Missing Piece of the Puzzle" is an extremely good piece of journalistic reporting, and it's obvious you did plenty of homework to write this piece. You should be commended for the work to put this piece together. It is excellent! http://www.northcountrygazette.org/articles/062406SchiavoPuzzle.html
When I post on the strangulation theory on various message boards, you can imagine the outcries to defend Michael Schiavo that came back to me. One poster made a big deal about petechial hemorrhaging that so often occurs in strangulation cases. I think your article addresses this quite well. I thought your inclusion of that domestic violence report, showing that most domestic violence resulting in murder was done by chokehold. This was ingenious! This ties in with Carole Lieberman, M.D., psychiatrist at UCLA, who did a report on Michael Schiavo as a murderous sociopath.
You've taken a bite out of the claims that the two cops (St. Petersburg Police Department) did any sort of investigatory work in 1990...beyond asking a couple of questions without asking any follow-up questions, not checking any stories, interviewing any witnesses at Humana Hospital who talked to Michael Schiavo that first day, not closing off the area, collecting any evidence. The cops handed the apartment keys right back to Schiavo and then split as soon as they got the results of the first CT-Scan showing no midline shift of the brain.
You did a great job of comparing the contradicting stories that Schiavo told to the court, on the air and in his book.
You also did a great job, tying in the autopsy report to add perspective to the revisionist history that Michael Schiavo and Company, Et Al have foisted upon the public (and which has gone virtually unopposed and unchallenged for the past year).
