NTSB To Release Ethan Allen Report Tuesday

LAKE GEORGE---The National Transportation Safety Board will release its long awaited final report Tuesday, July 25 concluding their investigation of the capsizing of the tour boat Ethan Allen.

A live and archived webcast of the proceedings which will begin at 9:30 a.m. will be available on the board's website at www.ntsb.gov. The NTSB meeting will be held in the NTSB board room and conference center in Washington.

Twenty of the 48 people on board died last Oct. 2. The boat, owned by Shoreline Cruises Inc., was hosting a fall foliage tour of senior citizens from Michigan and Ohio when the boat capsized and sank in 70 feet of water.

The Ethan Allen has been taken out of service and is not operating on the lake this summer.

A summary of the board's final report ,which will include the findings, probable causes and any safety recommendations, will appear on the web site shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. The entire report will appear on the web site several weeks later. 7-24-06
