It's unclear why the San Jose Mercury News in California is endorsing a Florida gubernatorial candidate, especially one who has the second worst voting record in Congress since running for Governor.
It appears that campaigning is more important to Jim Davis than representing his constituents.
He's a hollow man, too scripted, wavering whichever he perceived the wind is blowing, charismatic but yet empty and insincere. Some call Charlie Crist the man in the empty suit. Davis is a close second.
The radar on Jim Davis automatically went up when the ethics angel Michael Schiavo, self-professed master of integrity and truth, anointed Davis with his endorsement, as if anyone cared who Michael Schiavo supports for Governor of anything. For that, Davis lists Schiavo on his website as a community leader on his list of endorsements.
A man who arranges for a judicial hit to murder his wife while he's living with another woman, fathering two illegitimate children while using his wife's money earmarked for her medical care to hire lawyers to kill her is not a community leader.
Jim Davis is not the kind of person that should be elected Governor of Florida. This individual will not serve the interests of the disabled, the ill, the elderly in Florida. Apparently he's hoping that the disabled and the elderly can't cast their vote for Governor. If they can and do, for sure it won't be Jim Davis who's elected----or Charlie Crist either.
Although Tom Gallagher has some baggage, is just a little too arrogant and opposes stem cell research, his conservatism and respect for life offsets his negatives.
The Mercury News paints Davis as being ethical and sincere. Ethical? Not if he's aligned himself with Michael Schaivo.
In June, Davis had already run afoul of the Florida Division of Elections with his campaign finance reports, failing to list as required the occupations of all contributors of $100 or more, allegedly attempting to shadow just who is attempting to influence his election with money.
Davis is another person who speaks doublespeak, similar to his supporter Michael Schiavo, saying one thing while doing another. Davis has been a critic of secrecy at the state Capitol but yet failed to comply with election law, failing to disclose the occupations of people who had contributed nearly a half million dollars to him as of June.
Under the occupation column, Davis simply stated "information requeste" (sic) which elections officials say isn't acceptable. Elections officials formally warned Davis who had a week to comply before the issue was referred to the Florida Elections Commission for sanctions.
Michael Schiavo's broken record says that Republicans and some Democrats exploited his wife. And just what is Michael Schiavo doing? What is Jim Davis doing? Using Terri's name and plight to further their own interests.
Schiavo says he wants to hold these politicians accountable who voted to err on the side of the life, who chose to give Terri Schiavo a fair and impartial review of the circumstances and facts rather rely on the heavily conflicted death march scripted and controlled by Schiavo, Felos, and Greer.
It's all about control with Michael Schiavo, his obsessive compulsive personality, domineering, abusive, just as people close to Terri Schiavo portray his actions just prior to her collapse and as he has shown time and time again since then, trying to control every aspect of Terri's life. No, it wasn't to protect her privacy as he tries to advocate but rather to keep the real truth from the public. It was to get even with her parents and siblings. It was to hide the true facts that Terri Schiavo wasn't terminal. Just think how far Terri might have recovered had she given therapy and rehabilitation the last 12 years of her life nstead of being cut off from the world by Schiavo since 1993 after he was financially endowed by a false insurance claim and found himself a mistress.
"I kept my promise", Schiavo inscribed Terri's gravestone. Just what promise was that, Michael, that she would never be able to recite what really happened on Feb. 25, 1990? That she would never be able to disrespect and embarrass him by divorcing him or did she know something more about Michael, about Agostino's, about Agostino's owner and attorney Daniel Grieco who quickly appeared on the scene after Terri's collapse?
Schiavo's employment history is telltale about him. He couldn't keep a job and was frequently unemployed, adding stress to the marriage, because he was always right and everyone else was wrong……just as he's still claiming today.
He controlled Terri in death as he tried to do in life. He controlled her visitors and ordered that no videos, no photographs be taken of her so that the world couldn't see how truly alive and cognizant Terri was, that way he could tell whatever lies he wanted to without fear of the Schindlers or the hospice staff exposing him for the liar he is and was. He intimidated nursing home staff and administrators so much they sought a restraining order against him. He maliciously and wrongfully portrayed the Schindlers as opportunists when all they wanted was the therapy and care that their daughter was entitled to, they wanted what was best for Terri. Michael wanted what was best for Michael.....and still does. He sniveled then, he's still whining today. It's time Michael Schiavo tried being a man.
Once the election is over, it's time that the politicians he has attacked held Michael Schiavo accountable, for Sen. Joe Lieberman (above left), Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave (above center), Florida's chief financial officer Tom Gallagher above right) and others take the initiative to launch the long overdue federal and state investigations into his handling of the money, the insurance policies, the Medicaid and Medicare fraud, his acknowledged misuse of spending Terri's Social Security checks for his own personal use. Michael Schiavo defied subpoenas and violated court orders, all with the endorsement and assistance of Judge George Greer, thwarted the judicial process, refusing to be deposed after former paramour Cindy Shook came forward with her allegations and after other evidence surfaced that Michael Schiavo didn't have clean hands. It's not too late, the investigations are long overdue. Prime time TV is rife with reality shows featuring the cold case squads.
There's no statute of limitations for murder.
And Terri Schiavo was murdered. The last death order crafted by Judge George Greer was unlawful and contrary to Florida Statutes which clearly state that food and water cannot be withheld from any individual. Greer's death order, executed by Michael Schiavo, ordered Terri Schiavo's death by withholding food and water. It didn't mention anything about artificial life support. Greer was clearly intent that Terri Schiavo would die, even refusing to allow an ice chip. That's blatant abuse exercised by George Greer and he should not be immune from prosecution for homicide. Assisted suicide and euthanasia is illegal in Florida too. Judges aren't immune from criminal prosecution.
The law is clear that while a guardian can refuse medical treatment for his ward, drinking water is not medical treatment. William Anderson, a senior psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital has stated that it is "not within the power of a guardian to withhold and not in the power of a rational court to prohibit" water given orally.
Somehow with the assistance of attorney Daniel Grieco and judges in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, state attorney Bernie McCabe and Everett Rice, employer of Schiavo's concubine's mother, no criminal investigation of Michael Schiavo was ever undertaken, not just of what happened on Feb. 25, 1990 when Terri Schiavo mysteriously collapsed but all of the events thereafter---the perjury, the false written statements, the intimidation, the handling of the money, insurance fraud and all the rest.
During 2003, a complaint supported with documentation was filed with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) but the complainant was met with a "runaround and cover-up". He then decided to contact Florida's Department of Children and Families in April, 2004, and provide them with the AHCA complaint numbers.
The complainant says that the deputy inspector general of AHCA told him that there were intra-agency communications between AHCA and DCF involving the Schiavo case, giving further evidence of alleged conspiratorial actions in covering up the alleged abuse and neglect. That should be investigated.
When the complainant tried to give DCF his complaint numbers for AHCA, the DCF representative refused to take any information. A DCF supervisor also refused to take the information. The complainant says he then contacted the office of Inspector General at DCF who advised him that DCF was obstructing him as a mandatory reporter and instructed him to file an on-line complaint against the intake person and supervisor. Although it was done, he was never contacted. That's the standard modus operandi in the Schiavo, one agency covers for another, up the ladder.
DCF staff didn't only obstruct the complainant, according to Dan McCall, an IG investigator. McCall says DCF staff stonewalled him in his investigation after he was assigned to determine if DCF was complying with the notification law. He determined there was massive non-compliance with the law.
Where were those Schiavo politicians like Davis then---covering up for Schiavo at all levels-Pinellas County, state and federal? Where was the outrage that there were and are cover-ups ongoing in local and state agencies concerning the abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable individuals?
When U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Weston) comes up for reelection, Davis's co-conspirator against disability rights in their opposition to having a de novo review of the Schiavo case, to give her the same civil rights that a convicted murder receives under habeas corpus, there should be a strong and vocal opponent to take her off Capitol Hill.
Politicians like Jim Davis and Wasserman-Schultz exploited Terri Schiavo then, just like Davis and Michael Schiavo are doing now. They weren't standing up for the "rights of America" as they claim, they were violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and the constitutional rights of every vulnerable person unable to speak for themselves. Wasserman-Schulz and Davis saw a political opportunity to springboard to higher aspirations, just as Davis is doing now, exploiting Terri Schiavo for what he hopes is political gain. This kind of person should not be representing Americans at any level of government.
And who was Wasserman-Schultz to even be involved? She had only been in office for 10 weeks but yet she and Davis felt they should be the self-appointed executioners for the disabled, running interference for the right to die movement.
One of Schiavo's favorite assaults is on Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn)
Frist, a medical doctor, was widely criticized last year for injecting himself into the Schiavo debate, for viewing a videotape of the woman and publicly challenging the diagnosis that Terri was in a persistent vegetative state.
Frist is a physician. Judge George Greer is not. Furthermore, Greer is legally blind but yet Michael Schiavo and his supporters didn't challenge Greer's PVS diagnosis of Terri Schiavo made by supposedly watching a videotape. Not only wasn't Greer qualified to make such a determination but he couldn't even see the videotapes, nor did he allow Terri Schiavo into the courtroom. He denied her legal counsel and although he acted in the prohibited dual role of guardian ad litem and judge, presumably to look out for the best interests of his "ward", George Greer wasn't interested enough in the truth as the "impartial fact finder" to ever personally visit Terri Schiavo. He was content to rely on hearsay testimony of her medical condition as expounded by Felos, who had a personal death agenda; by Felos' good friend and Dunedin neighbor, Dr. James Barnhill and another Dunedin compadre, Dr. Victor Gambone. Why didn't Felos have Barnhill testify as his medical witness in Schiavo II evidentiary hearing instead of Ronald Cranford (Dr. Humane Death) and Dr. Melvin Greer?
Bill Frist is under attack for allegedly failing to complete the continuing education requirements to keep his medical license valid and may face a fine.
What about Michael Schiavo who lied on his sworn guardianship application to the court, who falsified his academic credentials, creating a college degree that simply doesn't exist? He didn't even come close to completing the degree requirements at Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania.
Persons engaging in dishonesty and deceit should not hold professional licenses for nursing or respiratory therapists and then there's still the question about Michael Schavio violating the Nurse Practices Act by disclosing confidential medical information about Terri Schiavo on national TV on the Larry King Live show, graphically discussing her gynecological condition and needlessly revealing intimate and private details about her care in his book, again exploiting her in death.
Politicians didn't invade Terri's right to privacy. Michael Schaivo did and does so with a specific intent to further his own personal and private interests. Michael Schiavo is the person responsible for making the case a public spectacle and circus.
Schiavo and Felos have to date been successful in conspiring with George Greer to keep the financial records from public scrutiny. It's time to open the real records of the Department of Children and Families, of the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the guardianship records to learn just how the money in Terri Schiavo's trust fund was really handled and how much of it ended up in the deep pockets of George Felos and Deborah Bushnell as well as Michael Schiavo.
Michael Schaivo's right to challenge politicians who exploited tragedy? Michael Schiavo publicly and brutally raped the rights of his disabled wife by taking his quest to kill her into the Florida Courts. There simply was no clear and convincing proof that the disabled woman wanted to die. He manufactured and his family members manufactured it when all of his other attempts to kill her failed. When he was after $20 million from a jury to keep her alive, he didn't "remember" her so-called death wish.
Greer, Schaivo, Felos and yes, Jim Davis and Wasserman-Schultz violated the laws of the state of Florida and unlawfully and immorally withheld food and water from a disabled human being who couldn't speak for herself, for their own personal gain, wholly in violation of the ADA.
Felos had unclean hands as he exploited Terri Schiavo for his right to die movement.
Chief Judge Chris Altenbernd of the 2nd District Court of Appeals exploited Terri Schiavo, trying to protect himself and Felos in his ruling of the Estelle Browning case.
Felos, A man who admits to hearing voices and claims to be able to control planes by his mind should be psychologically examined to determine if he's fit to practice law.
Greer exploited Terri Schiavo and the case got out of control because he refused to admit he was wrong. He was so obstinately biased and prejudiced that his rulings became more and more unethical because he was trying to protect a ruling that he never should have made and all the courts thereafter supported his wrongful ruling.
As Patricia Anderson, attorney for the Schindlers said, Greer was so biased against the Schindler family that he arbitrarily denied any motion made, regardless of the law, regardless of the merits. It became the Rule of Terri. Motion denied, you wore the wrong color of shoes to court today.
Individuals like Davis and Wasserman-Schultz all forget they are elected to represent the people, not themselves, not their personal interests, not the special interest groups, not those campaign contributors with the biggest wallets.
The efforts against the disabled, America's vulnerable led by Davis and Wasserman-Schultz was one of the worst assaults on civil rights in America's history, and the U.S. Department of Justice should have prosecuted both for violations of the ADA and their attempts to deny Terri Schiavo and her family access to the federal courts for the complete and impartial review intended.
Terri Schiavo was murdered before America's eyes and if people like Jim Davis, Wasserman-Schultz, Ned Lamont, Angie Paccione and others supported by Michael Schiavo are allowed to enter into or remain in public office, America will not be safe. There will be a grave danger of a mass execution of those who Davis, Wasserman-Schultz and others decide can no longer contribute to society, the throwaways who them deem have no value and have become a burden.
Vote for Jim Davis and others supported by Michael Schiavo and what happened to Terri Schiavo will happen again….maybe to your family member next time. Dehydrating people to death cannot become the norm in our United States.
Schiavo and Davis and Wasserman-Schultz politicized a case which never should have made it's way to Congress. It was a social issue, a moral issue, an issue of conscience, not a political issue. Michael Schiavo should have been removed as guardian in 1993. With therapy and rehabilitation continued for Terri surrounded by those who loved her, who knows how far she could have recovered.
The entire world has come to know Michael Schiavo by him thrusting himself into the political arena, greedily savoring the limelight and trying to make people feel sorry for him. It's a hard sell.
George Greer legislated from the bench. He caused an innocent person to die in a inhumane way, in an illegal manner contrary to Florida Statutes and he did so with the encouragement and support of Jim Davis, Wasserman-Schultz and a minority in the Congress. The actions of Davis, Wasserman-Schultz, Schiavo, Greer and their clique were and are a clear threat to our democracy, to our Constitution as designed and ratified by our forefathers. Our forefathers designed a balance of powers, it was not their intent for the judicial branch to run roughshod over the other two branches as Judge Greer did, but rather to create separate but equal branches.
"Michael Schiavo's starvation of Terri Schiavo represented the ultimate triumph of social Darwinism. Not content merely to succeed in depriving his wife of the right to life, he now seeks to put at risk other frail and vulnerable people," said Ken Connor, the lawyer who represented Gov. Jeb Bush in efforts to try to keep Terri alive. "It never ceases to amaze me the lengths to which the strong are willing to exploit the weak for their own purposes."
Like Jim Davis. 8-31-06
