WESTCHESTER---A former Westchester County corrections officer, assigned to the Westchester County Jail, has been sentenced to probation for interfering in a drug investigation.
Timothy Connolly, 39, of Yonkers, will be on five years of probation for pleading guilty to a single count of second degree hindering prosecution, a class E felony; and three years of probation for a single count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
During the course of a combined investigation by the Westchester District Attorney Narcotics Initiative (W-DANI), Yonkers Police, New York State Police and Westchester County Department of Correction Special Investigations Unit, Connolly was arrested in Yonkers for narcotics possession. He was told not to discuss his arrest or the ongoing investigation.
He subsequently alerted one of the principal targets of the investigation that he was being watched and that he should "shut down" his cocaine sales and stop using his phone as it was being monitored.
As a result of his guilty plea, Connolly was terminated from the Westchester County Department of Correction. 9-07-06
