Car Dealer Charged With Altering Odometer

The owner of a Utica automobile dealership has been arrested for allegedly tampering with the odometer of a used car.

David Marasco, owner of M&M Auto Sales of Utica has been arrested on falsifying business records in the first degree with additional charges pending. Marasco is accused of tampering with the odometer on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am and selling the vehicle with substantially lower mileage to an unsuspecting buyer. Additional charges are pending.

Investigators from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Field Investigations made the arrest.

Anyone who has purchased a vehicle from M&M Auto Sales within the past two years and believes that the odometer was tampered is asked to contact NYS DMV Investigator Paul Hojohn at 518-793-0047. 9-14-05
