NEW YORK----"You are an evil person", Bronx Supreme Court Judge Joseph Fisch told the man that police say was involved in the disappearance of the granddaughter of state Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno. "You are a peddler of human flesh".
The judge sentenced John Savage, 30, to spend up to four years in prison for an August 2004 probation violation unrelated to the Bruno case for allegedly serving alcohol to his teenage stepsons.
Bruno's granddaughter, Rachael Bruno, 20,was reported missing in late July. A few days later she was found alone in Times Square. Savage was arrested in the same spot a few moments later when he arrived. Police said the woman had met Savage on the Internet.
He was on probation from a February 2002 conviction on four counts of third degree bribery for approaching a police officer and offering him money in exchange for information about when police would be doing prostitute sweeps. He pleaded guilty to later paying undercover officers $690 for related information and was sentenced to three years probation which he violated in August 2004. 9-17-06
