Christmas Publication Date Anticipated For "Culture of Corruption"

"Culture of Corruption: The Schiavo Story", by June Maxam, a new book about the Terri Schiavo case, will soon be available only at The North Country Gazette. Pre-publication orders for the e-book are now being received at news@northcountrygazette.org

Investigative journalist June Maxam, publisher of The North Country Gazette and co-publisher of The Empire Journal, has written more than 275 articles relating to the judicial homicide of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

Terri Schiavo wasn't terminal, she was handicapped---quite possibly the victim of domestic abuse and violence. She became the poster child for the disabled in America.

The state attorney's office would prosecute an individual who starved an animal to death---why did Florida's attorney general Charlie Crist and Pinellas state attorney Bernie McCabe stand idly by and allow a probate court judge to sentence a person to death by starvation---a most cruel and inhumane death and one totally prohibited by law that says no individual, not even a judge, can totally withhold food and water from an individual.

There has been a blatant and wholly unacceptable obstruction of justice in this matter-of public officials turning their heads because of politics, maybe because of payoffs and corruption-definitely because of deception and conflicts of interest. There exists a gaping flaw in the criminal justice system of Florida in this case.

Maybe flaw isn't the right word.

Pandemic corruption appears to be more like it.

Maxam has extensively investigated and written about the Schiavo case, conducting interviews with the Schindler family and many of the caregivers and attorneys involved in the decade-long case. Maxam has provided in-depth legal analysis of the case and its issues, the Medicare and Medicaid fraud issues of the case, the allegations of domestic abuse, the collusion in the courts.

Maxam reported the Constitutional showdown in the case as the days and then hours ticked by towards her death, the intertwining of executive, legislature and judicial branches, the changing of Florida law to accommodate and achieve the death of Terri Schiavo, the medical, ethical and legal issues of the case.

Persons wishing to be notified when the book becomes available may sign up by sending their name and email address, referencing "Culture of Corruption", to news@northcountrygazette.org or by using the contact form on site at www.northcountrygazette.org
