"Give him enough rope and he'll hang himself".
More and more people are seeing the side of Michael Schiavo which Terri Schiavo knew, that her parents and siblings knew as well as Terri's close friends and work partners.
Michael Schiavo is stalking legislators who he feels "done him wrong", trying to confront them, pounce on them, yelling and screaming at them. He's bullying people, just like he did to Terri's nurses and caretakers, to the nursing home administrators who sought a restraining order against him.
Stalking is just another part of the control issue, a dominant factor in domestic violence and abuse.
Terri Schindler Schiavo died on March 31, 2005, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. Michael Schiavo had used money earmarked for his wife's rehabilitation and therapy for brain injuries to instead hire attorneys to cause her death. He refused to divorce her because had he done so, he would have lost his claim to the money in the estate, money that eventually went into the pockets of attorneys who had their own agendas including the euthanasia and right to die movement.
It wasn't a right to die issue---it was an issue of disability rights and egregious violations of the American with Disabilities Act.
He claimed Terri was in a persistent vegetative state. Her parents and numerous doctors said not. She left no living will. He said she wouldn't want to live but Michael Schiavo, who had been flitting from one adulterous affair to another, fathering children and spending money he realized from fraudulent insurance claims, was so heavily conflicted, his hearsay so unreliable and self-serving, that no conscientious, reasonable, respectable judge should ever have killed a woman at the bidding of Michael Schiavo and an attorney who heard voices, had visions and thought he could command airplanes to crash just by thinking about it.
Michael Schiavo slinked into Tuesday's debate in Colorado between the three candidates for Colorado's 4th Congressional District, hoping to launch a surprise attack, trying an intentional, albeit failed, ambush of Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, obviously irate that she rightfully continues to ignore him.
This type of temper tantrum and instability is indicative of the controlling, explosive character of Michael Schiavo which board certified psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman says he exhibits, irate when he believes he has been disrespected, when he doesn't get his own way, just like a two-year-old brat.
Schiavo first tried his grandstanding and publicity stunt in July when he and Musgrave's challenger, Angie Paccione, stormed the federal office of Musgrave, delivering a letter to Musgrave, chastising her for voting in favor of emergency legislation designed to save Terri's life and give a de novo review of the court case, moving jurisdiction of the matter from the local level to the federal courts.
That was all about publicity value and inflating Schiavo's already overbloated ego.
Marilyn Musgrave burst his bubble and Schiavo was out for revenge.
"When we talk about a permanent vegetative state, I'm offended that Terri smiles and acknowledges the people that love her when they come to see her…..How heartless are we to call somebody like Terri Schiavo a vegetable", Musgrave said last spring as Congress prepared to pass legislation designed to save the disabled woman's life. "What we do in this chamber tonight is as important as anything we have done in defending our nation, in doing the things that we do as members of Congress", Musgrave said during the March 2005 floor speech.
It wasn't the Republicans that exploited Terri Schiavo as he and his supporters claim, it was Michael Schiavo, George Felos and the euthanasia movement, Judge George Greer and lawyers who specialize and enrich themselves in guardianships, estates and probate matters.
And Michael Schiavo continues his exploitation of his wife-in-name only today, with Angie Paccione trying to jump on the wagon, seemingly forgetting that the Senate vote to save the life of Terri Schindler Schiavo was unanimous. Democrats as well as Republicans voted to have the matter reviewed from anew in federal court.
In his July letter to Musgrave, Schiavo said he had hoped to meet with her. She gracefully ignored him and released a statement saying that "I have only compassion for Michael and Terri's family, and all those who have lost a loved one".
But he wasn't content to accept that, and he certainly likes being the center of attention, a lot like standing on a picnic table with his brothers at a family gathering, seeing who can pee the farthest.
He wanted to try and pick an argument with Musgrave face to face, a showdown of sorts, turn the spotlight on himself, get even with her for what he perceives was her disrespect for him when she sidestepped him in July. She ignored him again Tuesday night.
And he's mad.
His actions Tuesday night were childish, transparent and disgraceful, a vivid and very public demonstration of his abusive personality, exhibiting one of the prime reasons Terri Schiavo was thinking about divorcing him and had so stated to her family and friends just days and in fact hours before her suspicious and still unexplained collapse.
Michael Schiavo was so mad Tuesday that he didn't get a chance to showboat and grandstand at the debate that he screamed and yelled at Musgrave according to reports.
He still maintains that she meddled in his life.
Again Michael, it never was about you and it still isn't.
It was never supposed to be about your wishes. You totally disregarded Terri's wishes, and worse of all, you know it and gloat about it.
Angered because he couldn't become the center of attention during the debate, he had a hissy fit as the debate ended without him being able to flaunt himself, screaming at Musgrave as she and her staff left the arena.
He told a reporter for the Greeley Tribune that "That was cowardice. She couldn't stand up and answer a question".
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks, Michael. How many questions have you refused to answer about Terri's injuries, about the sealed financial records, about your finances. How many depositions have you avoided.
Marilyn Musgrave has no cause to be answerable to you.
But you had a responsibility and obligation to answer questions posed by Terri's parents and others. You shirked your responsibility as a man, as a husband, as a human being and you are still doing so. You can run, Michael, you can try to engage in smoke and mirrors, Michael, but you will never be able to hide.
If the shoe fits, Schiavo, put it on. You're the coward. Why haven't you answered the questions? Why have you consistently dodged all depositions and proceedings since January 2000?
What really happened to Terri Schindler Schiavo the night of Feb. 25, 1990?
When did attorney Daniel Grieco first become aware of Terri's collapse?
Who did you call the night of Feb. 25, 1990, before Bobby Schindler arrived?
Why did you wait so long to call for help?
Why does your story keep changing?
Why don't you open the sealed financial records of the Schiavo case?
How much have you financially gained as a result of Terri's injuries and death?
Why won't you take a polygraph test?
Michael Schiavo is trying to dominate and intimidate Congresswoman Musgrave as he tried to dominate Terri. Dr. Lieberman has described Schiavo as having an abusive controlling personality, pathologically controlling.
And he's demonstrating it more and more publicly.
He has been under psychiatric care in the past, including being prescribed several psychotropic medications. One of his treating therapists, Dr. Peter Kaplan, told Terri's father that he should have called the police after Michael argued with Terri's sister, Suzanne, and Michael tried to attack her. This occurred right after Terri's collapse, when they were all in a house together. Terri's father told Suzanne to lock her door and keep a hammer nearby.
Perhaps Marilyn Musgrave may want to consider obtaining an order of protection or restraining order to keep Schiavo away from her.
According to a statement issued by the Musgrave campaign, in 2005, Paccione was quoted as saying that she disagreed with Schiavo's decision to kill Terri by removing her food and water leading Musgrave to accuse Paccione of engaging in an election year flip-flop. It appears that Paccione, like her supporter Michael Schiavo, just goes with the flow, saying whatever she thinks will benefit her at the time.
If she disagreed with him in 2005, why has she aligned herself with him now?
Does money talk, people walk in elections too?
Michael Schiavo continues to assert that Congress intruded in "his" life. The whole issue of the death of Terri Schindler Schiavo was never about Michael Schiavo and never will be, no matter how he tries to push himself on the public.
Michael Schiavo is the one who sought government help to kill his wife after the nursing homes refused to kill her by withholding medical treatment as he tried to dictate because doing so is illegal.
Euthanasia, assisted suicide and murder is also illegal in the state of Florida.
If he so deplores government intervention into what he claims was his privacy rights, he has no further to look than his own backyard.
The only one to blame for the untimely and undue death of an innocent handicapped woman is Michael Schiavo. 10-25-06
