Tampa's Top ICE Agent 007 Charged With Sex Crime At Mall

Agent 007 was arrested Tuesday and charged with exposing himself to a 16-year-old girl.

No, not James Bond, the character in the Ian Fleming spy novels.

The special agent-in-charge of the Tampa office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Frank Figueroa, 49, was arrested by Orlando police on charges of exposure of sexual organs and disorderly conduct following an incident at the Millenia Mall.

Police said that Figueroa, a 29-year veteran of law enforcement, exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl in a eating establishment in the mall. The incident was recorded on mall security cameras. She found her mother and reported the incident to security.

Figueroa was remanded to the Orange County Jail but released after making $500 bond. The arrest report states that "the nature of Figueroa's actions do corrupt the public morals and outrage the sense of public decency. Due to the small children in the area….Figueroa's actions did create a threat to the safety and well being of others".

When his former agency, U.S. Customs, joined with Immigration and Naturalization Services to form ICE following 9/11 in 2001, Figueroa and other top officers were allowed to choose their own badge numbers. He chose 007.

He had taken command of ICE operations in Central Florida about six weeks ago and had previously served in Washington, Miami and San Juan.

He has been placed on administrative leave and an internal investigation has reportedly been initiated by ICE.

After agents under Figueroa's command broke up a prostitution ring last week, Figueroa had promised to vigorously pursue sex crimes.
