PINELLAS COUNTY, FL---How satisfied are you with the operations and funding of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department?
How about the state attorney's office of Bernie McCabe or the county agencies dealing with transportation, housing and health care?
Betcha some telephone surveyors will get an earful over the next couple of weeks when they call about 800 registered voters in Pinellas County through mid-November, particularly if they ask the voters how they feel about the operations and funding of the Pinellas County Court-especially the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of George Greer, Mark Shames, Crockett Farnell, John Lenderman and other Pinellas County officials involved in the Terri Schiavo case.
No doubt it'll be a good thing that the survey is conducted only in Pinellas County.
The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners has engaged Oppenheim Research, an independent firm in Tallahassee, to conduct the 10 to 12 minute phone surveys with the voters as part what the commissioners say is part of their ongoing effort to involve citizens in government.
The surveys began Friday, Oct. 28. The information gleaned will purportedly guide the development of the countywide strategic plan known as Vision Pinellas that seeks to improve the quality of life in Pinellas County.
No indication has been given as to how the firm will choose who they call to survey.
It's expected the results will be presented to the county board in December. 10-30-05
