Michael Schiavo likely won't become special advisor to the Florida's new Governor.
He won't be on the transition team as he no doubt envisioned in his ego-driven agenda.
His delusions of grandeur have been dashed by the voters.
Schiavo-endorsed Democrat Jim Davis (left) lost his bid for Governor to Republican Charlie Crist (right).
So now what platform is Michael Schiavo going to use to fuel his need to be the center of attention?
His rant that government invaded his privacy and his self-serving dual set of standards didn't hold water with the voters.
No doubt if Davis had somehow won, Schiavo would have expected him to name him as commissioner of health or head of the state board of nursing, maybe even commissioner of corrections or some such nonsense, you know how political favors and political paybacks go.
Michael Schiavo and his political action committee, TerriPAC, didn't do so well in the elections despite all of his theatrics and his one issue spiel, losing in 60% of the races into which he intruded. While Democrats took control of the House, the big name Democrats all lost, those whom Schiavo endorsed and into whose campaigns he interjected himself and created a public spectacle.
He gave them the Kiss of Death.
Despite his stalking and repeated attacks on Colorado Republican Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave (left) due to her expression of compassion regarding Terri Schindler Schiavo on the House floor last March, Musgrave defeated the Schiavo-endorsed Democratic candidate Angie Paccione (right).
Schiavo tried his grandstanding and publicity stunts around the country, storming the federal office of Musgrave, chastising her for voting in favor of emergency legislation designed to save Terri's life and give a de novo review of her court case, moving jurisdiction of the matter from the local level to the federal courts. It was all about himself, just as it always has been. The selfish man.
This time Judge George Greer wasn't in control, the people spoke and Schiavo's bullying tactics and blood money, money obtained by the exploitation of his deceased disabled wife, simply didn't work.
Schiavo lost decisively in Connecticut with incumbent Senator Joe Lieberman (left) defeating Ned Lamont (right), running as an Independent after losing the Democratic nomination to Lamont in September.
Overall, Schiavo lost 11 of the 19 contests in which he endorsed candidates. Think about it, who cared what candidate Michael Schiavo supported. Obviously the voters paid no attention to his blood money or whining that he'd "been done wrong".
Excluding Davis, of the seven Floridians endorsed by Schiavo for the Florida Legislature, four were defeated and of the three races won, there really was no contest anyway.
It's time for Michael Schiavo to crawl back in his hole and stay there.
Go away, Michael Schiavo. Your 15 minutes of "fame" are over. 11-08-06
