ERIE COUNTY, OHIO---Even though assistant Erie County prosecutor Terry M. Griffith prosecutes people for leaving the scene of accidents, Erie County prosecutor Kevin Baxter hasn't decided if she should be disciplined for doing the same thing.
Griffith, 65, allegedly struck a car Monday with her van in the parking lot of the Erie County Services Center where she works. Witnesses say that she got out of her vehicle and inspected the damage to the other vehicle, then left the scene.
After the witnesses reported Griffith and police located her, she told them she was having a "bad day". She was issued what is known as a "hit-skip" citation which presumably would be prosecuted by the Erie County Prosecutor's office of Baxter.
Baxter has reportedly said that he'll wait until after the case is disposed of to decide if he will discipline her, claiming that even though the incident occurred on county property that it didn't occur while she was working. 11-16-06
