Police: Man Threatened To Blow Up Social Services Agency

QUEENSBURY---A Glens Falls man is lodged in the Warren County Jail without bail after he allegedly threatened to blow up the Warren County Department of Social Services.

Police said that Michael A. Mitchell, 27, of Henry Hudson Town Houses in Glens Falls, allegedly left a message on a DSS answering machine, threatening to "blow it up" after a caseworker from Child Protective Services visited his home.

Bud York, senior investigator at the Queensbury State Police station, said that Mitchell has been charged with making a terroristic threat, although there are no indications that he planned to actually follow through with his boast. 11-17-06
