ERIE COUNTY, OHIO---In Cuyahoga County, former attorney Elsebeth Baumgartner is being threatened with 75 years in state prison for criticizing a judge.
In Erie County, man has received probation and a six month suspended sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of misdemeanor assault for threatening to kill and eat two Erie County Sheriff's officers and spitting on two paramedics.
Mark Stephens allegedly pointed a fake rifle at Deputy Adam Klepper last Jan. 31 during an incident at Stephens' home when he allegedly threatened to kill the officer and his family.
According to court records, Stephens told Klepper he would "gut me like a pig an suck my liver out with a straw". While being transported to the hospital after he complained of being lightheaded, Stephens spit on two paramedics and allegedly threatened to kill another sheriff's officer.
Erie County assistant prosecutor Jeanne Lippert reportedly stated that he avoided prison time because the gun was fake. 11-21-06
