Police: Woman Made False Report During Manhunt

SYDNEY---A woman who State Police say made a false report during the manhunt for Travis Trim in Delaware County, wanted for shooting a state trooper, has been arrested.

Nichole L. Shultis, 29, of Grand Gorge, was arrested Thursday, charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree and making a punishable false written statement.

State Police said that Shultis reported that on Tuesday at approximately 9:30 p.m., while on Ferris Hill Road in the Town of Roxbury, a male subject brandishing a pistol, attempted to car jack her vehicle. Police said as a result of her actions, numerous emergency resources were diverted unnecessarily for this alleged false report.

Shultis was processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Roxbury court on May 9 at 7 p.m. 4-27-07
